Motivated by the desire to provide their children with opportunity and a better life, Nelson Batista`s hardworking parents came to Canada from Portugal in the 1970s. His mother, Maria, was an experienced housekeeper, and his father, Dinis, was a respected carpenter, handyman, and jack-of-all-trades who renovated and built houses. Maria and Dinis Batista instilled a strong and lasting sense of the importance of the home in Nelson and his sister.
After crafting two of his family's homes himself, Dinis Batista took his son, Nelson, under his wing. Under his father’s direction and expertise, Nelson developed a strong work ethic, excellent building skills, and ability to effectively plan and budget for projects of all sizes.
Douglas Lee
Project Manager
Douglas joined the Batista team after eight years of running his own business and ten years of working in the field of information technology. From his extensive professional experience, Douglas developed outstanding strategic business planning skills. As the director of a leading global communications company, Douglas became skilled in financial planning and reporting and knowledgeable about foreign exchange considerations and investor relations. Batista Properties and their clients benefit from Douglas’ background in architectural drafting and computer aided design technology. Douglas confidently and effectively guides clients through the homebuilding process in either English or Cantonese.
Mamie Yee
Bookkeeper
Mamie’s outstanding accounting abilities, impeccable organizational skills, and impressive ability to work effectively under tight deadlines make her instrumental in the success of Batista Properties. Mamie has fifteen years of extensive experience using technology, such as Sage ERP 300 and Quickbooks, to manage budgets and speaks both English and Cantonese.

Whether you come to Batista Properties with an architect or wish to have the Batista team connect you with a highly qualified professional architect who will be a perfect fit for you, the Batista team will collaborate with your architect to create a step by step plan to bring your plans to fruition.
Next, the Batista team will create a detailed budget for your plans that includes everything from cabinets to decorative sconces. You will review the estimate with the team to ensure it is on the right track for you and your budget.
Following the budget review, a timeline for your building process will be created. This way, you will know just what to expect and will be informed about everything from when the first brick is laid, to the date of your first night in your new home.
After your timeline is complete, you will be given a virtual 3D tour of your home – a wonderful opportunity to stroll through your new home before anyone even picks up a hammer!
A key feature of the Batista Properties experience is access to your very own online portal where you can login anytime to watch your home’s progress, view blueprints and plans, and see your dreams become reality.
Just prior to the proud day when you take possession of your incredible custom home, the Batista team will lead you on a special tour through your new house to review the details and plan to add any final touches you desire. The final step will be to move in and enjoy your beautifully crafted house.
